Angelo Marchesini Chairman

Angelo founded Italcotto in 1986 applying a wealth of experience gained in the ceramic tile industry. Having founded the Western Cape branch of a national ceramic tile supplier and being instrumental in the implementation of Italian tile manufacturing models in South Africa, Angelo was well poised to realise his vision of offering homeowners and builders with quality products and valuable service. He also reintroduced the ageless Italian clay roof tile to the South African market.

Davide Marchesini Managing Director

Davide was appointed as Managing Director in 2003 when Angelo Marchesini took up the position as Chairman.

Davide's technical knowledge in the ceramic tile manufacturing industry was gained while employed as production manager for South Africa's largest tile manufacturer and in his own decor manufacturing company.   

Davide formed his own tile decor business in 1994 and developed it into the largest decor manufacturer in South Africa.

He is responsible for planning and guiding the companies future growth and also sources and appoints new overseas suppliers.

Emilia Errera Financial Director

Aside from her duties as Financial Director of Italcotto and her active involvement in the marketing and advertising of the company and its products, Emilia is also responsible for the smooth running of the administration services of the company. In all facets of this diverse combination of tasks Emilia puts to good use her 20 years of experience in construction and project management.

Paolo Carlone Marketing and Sales Director

Paolo manages the Italcotto projects department and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this aspect of the company’s services. Italcotto Projects offers indispensable assistance, information and guidance to architects and builders for projects ranging from home building and roofing to large commercial and industrial endeavours. For Paolo the emphasis is a hands-on involvement throughout the project life cycle, from start the finish.

Tiziana Tarantello Buyer & Sales Executive

Tiziana's focus is as buyer of local and imported products as well as offering sales advice to both private and building industry clients. The experience gained from her many years of service in the ceramic tile industry is evident not only in the sales advice to clients but also in her ability to purchase tiles for every taste and budget.

Giovanna Carlone Sales Executive

Buying the right tiles and fixtures is often an overwhelming and uncertain experience for homeowners. As a qualified interior decorator with a natural sense for style and design Giovanna offers valuable assistance to clients caught in this uncertainty. Giovanna's entire career has been focused around the tile trade and with a record of being a top sales consultant, she offers significant value to the discerning client.

Gino Tarantello Owner Caffé Allegro

Gino Tarantello arrived in Cape Town in 1975. He studied and worked as a restaurateur at the Heerengracht Hotel. Gino then worked at "La Vita" (Chris Barnard's restaurant in Newlands) Together with his partner, Aldo Novati. La Vita' closed after 19 years due to major alterations to the Dean Street Arcade, Newlands. Aldo and Gino then embarked on a new restaurant "Novati on Main" in Newlands.

In July 1999 Gino Tarantello founded Caffé Allegro at the Italcotto Centre. His idea was to create a traditional Italian Coffee shop where friends could meet and relax in an atmosphere of Italian hospitality while enjoying the best in Italian cuisine.
